Inspiring Makers: Magpie Castle

Jinx Reithofer from Magpie Castle is a self-taught glass artisan. She sells her wares regularly at The Arts Centre Mākete. Her handcrafted kaleidoscopes, stained glass trinkets, crystals and pressed flower jewellery have a magical feel and playing with light is always a feature of her work. We have been inspired by Jinx’s mahi to make our own simple kaleidoscopes that create fun night-time lights.

Visit www.instagram.com/magpiecastle to find out more about Jinx’s beautiful glass work and jewellery.

Abbie and her whānau have been inspired again! Check out how they made their simple night-time kaleidoscopes in this PDF resource or to watch their instructional video click here.
