Join a panel of experts in heritage restoration - architect Tim Holmes from Warren and Mahoney, heritage consultant Jenny May from Heritage Management Services and structural engineer John Trowsdale from Holmes Consulting - for a discussion on how The Arts Centre has been seismically strengthened and adapted during its restoration. The panel will illustrate their conversation with slides showing behind-the-scenes photographs of the buildings' transformation over this 12-year project.
The panel will be led by Jessica Halliday, Director of Te Pūtahi Centre for Architecture and City Making.
Free, no booking required.
Since this session is immediately after work, light refreshments will be served.
This event is part of Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre’s involvement in Christchurch Heritage Festival 2023. The theme this year is Our Stories of Living and Learning, and is an opportunity to share the stories of the past that link us to this place. He tātai muka, he tātai tangata – weave together the strands, weave together the people.
This event has been generously supported by Christchurch City Council Heritage Festival Community Grant.
