    Explore The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora on an entertaining guided walking tour led by an actor playing the young Ernest Rutherford. Drawing from his time here as a student and presenting the rich history of this central Ōtautahi Christchurch heritage landmark. 

    You’ll meet a young Ernest Rutherford, discover the centre’s connection with New Zealand’s role at the forefront of women’s rights, gain captivating insight into the stunning heritage buildings, and hear thrilling tales from years gone by.

    You’ll also learn how the precinct transformed from a formal education hub home to Canterbury College (now the University of Canterbury) and secondary schools, to a centre for the arts full of culture, creativity, entrepreneurship and education.
