Simon Edwards Picturesque

15 April - 16 May 2021

Time

10.00AM – 4.00PM

Open Wednesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Venue: The Central Art Gallery

Riffing in the continuum between wilderness sublime and the beautifully balanced peaceful, is Simon Edwards’ new exhibition Picturesque.

Milford Sound might be the starting point for these new almost square paintings. But their combinations of squeegee and brush, inks and oils are vigorous and surprising. To admire one of these paintings is a wonderful and rigorous pleasure – it is to witness with both sight and the imaginary.
