Whēkau
Members of Whēkau, Alison Holden (piano) and Mark Hobson (saxophone and clarinet) are thrilled to invite Rachel Doig (soprano) to join them for this concert.
The programme is centred around Anthony Ritchie's cartoon Fantasy for Soprano Saxophone and Orchestra. This is a newly penned piano reduction of this work, which was written for Mark in 1996. Rachel will join the duo for a segment to explore some of the beautiful, lush and varied repertoire for this combination.
This concert is part of The Great Hall Lunchtime Concert Series 2021, showcasing a remarkable line-up of renowned local, national and international artists performing in a beautiful heritage venue.
