Not as simple as it sounds

By performance artist, Ivan Lupi

Tuesday 6 - Saturday 11 August 2024

Time

9.00AM – 5.00PM

Venue: Great Hall

‘Not as simple as it sounds’, offers an intimate and powerful act of mourning dedicated to each one of the estimated 100,000 homosexuals who were discriminated against, imprisoned and killed during the Holocaust.

The artist, with contributions from the audience, is repeatedly playing a triangle instrument for 6 days, each day for 8 hours straight, in order to exceed 100,000 strikes.

If you feel inclined to actively participate in the action, you are invited to grab a beater and play a triangle for as long as you like. Please keep track of the number of strikes you perform and note them down in the guest book before leaving: all together we will reach the final goal.
