Re-creating Recreation - Heritage Fun Zone

Venue: South Quad

Join in some outdoor heritage games and activities from the 1800s – when most toys were made of wooden or metal - including skittles, quoits, beanbag toss, skipping, hoops, pick-up-sticks, yo-yos, wooden spinning tops, string games, egg-and-spoon races and more!

Bring the whole family along to have fun and enjoy some leisure time in this heritage space.

NOTE: This event will be CANCELLED if it is raining, sorry.

Thank you to the Bishopdale Menzshed  for creating and building some of these wooden heritage games for us, and to the Friends of the Arts Centre for helping host this event.

This event is part of the Christchurch Heritage Festival (12 - 28 October 2024).
