About the artists

The creative works are made from people from all works of life as a way to express a time of REvolution in their life.

Thriving Madly is a community that aims to journey as and alongside Mad, Divergent and Neurodivergent people, families and communities to improve our status as citizens of Aotearoa New Zealand.  The focus is community transformation through connection.

The group shares their unique worldviews, wisdom, skills and creativity, to provide opportunities for the community to understand them and their experiences better.  They also aim to increase connections and participation opportunities within the community by growing spaces that are comfortable, accessible, and welcoming of their diversity.

They believe it is through mutual connections that they will weather the storms of life, crafting wisdom and beauty along the way, that will benefit not only themselves and each other but also the broader community.

About the Divergence Festival

Divergence is a two-week-long Festival of Madness.  It aims to provide a space for Mad, Divergent, and Neurodivergent people, to connect, celebrate, showcase, and share the richness of their lives, with one another and the wider community.  They want sane folk to have an opportunity to witness their diversity and have an opportunity to see what they as divergent people bring to the world.

Thriving Madly wishes to gratefully acknowledge the support of the Christchurch City Council Creative Communities Scheme.
