It is with the greatest of pleasure that the River City Jazzmen announce a Jazz-date in our iconic Arts Centre’s Great Hall with the multi-talented and stylish chanteuse Naomi Ferguson. Naomi has made a memorable name for herself both locally and nationally as a gifted musician whose singing, piano playing and arranging have resulted in her being feted as one of the stars of New Zealand jazz cabaret. The Jazzmen are honoured to be able to welcome Naomi join them in a tribute to some of the stellar divas of the Jazz Age such as Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Cleo Laine and Ernestine Anderson.

The Jazzmen are also very much looking forward to returning to the Great Hall, scene of their sell-out concert in April of this year. They are keen to complement Naomi’s captivating offerings with a range of new material from the Dixieland playbook and beyond! Along with latest addition to the band of exciting Australian trombonist and pianist, Glyn MacDonald, the RCJ lineup comprises Dave Pitt on double bass, Louie Moverley on drums, Michael Fairhurst on trumpet, cornet, flugel horn and vocals, Allan Hawes on reeds and Neill Pickard on banjo, guitar and vocals.
